I bought this because of the color-enhancing claim. I have very dark (brown-black hair) hair and I didn't notice any change in color. However, I did notice that the texture of my hair worsened considerably. It was easily tangled, coarse, frizzy, dull. Until I used this shampoo I didn't realize how much shampoo/conditioner can affect your hair (I thought it was just a marketing scam and that most shampoos are really the same). From reading other reviews it looks like it worked best for those with fine hair. But for those with thick hair (like mine) with a tendency towards dry hair -- I do NOT recommend this at all. I switched to Aveeno Nourish and Moisterize line which has been much better for my hair.

This product is supposed to highlight colored hair and condition it. I saw no improvement. I have thick wavy red hair and it looked dry after several uses. I do tend towards dry hair but this was supposed to help not hurt!!

I like this shampoo. It has done a good job of protecting my color. It doesn't have a very good smell though.

I like this shampoo. It doesn't have a heavy perfume smell, which is nice. It comes out thick, so it seems to need more in order to lather up. My hair definitely looks more red and shiny- used my old shampoo (which was made for colored hair) for one day and was surprised at the difference. I have oily hair, and this gets my scalp good and clean without stripping it. Along with the Reflect conditioner makes my hair shiny, brings out shimmering red highlights, and my hair is super soft. Definitely worth the extra money!

I have real thin, fine hair and I like to dye it reddish tones, which fade within the week usually. This shampoo has helped prevent the fading, and it keeps my hair clean all day. With most shampoos my hair becomes oily by night, but this one helps prevent that!

I actually have colored hair; I love this shampoo because it really helps to prevent fading, and enhances the shine. It also gives my hair great body when used with the color reflect conditioner.

This did a good job of enhancing the subtle reddish tones in my black hair. They are definitely more noticeable now. This also made my hair very shiny and manageable. I think it's making it a bit more prone to static than usual, and I'm not crazy about the scent (sorta like cider) but it's faint. I think I'd repurchase this.

I used this shampoo for a few days and had a bad allergic reaction to it! I broke out on my scalp, neck, and behind my ears. I don't know what ingredient(s) in this product caused me to have an allergic reaction, but this is the last time I buy anything from Shikai.

This shampoo is AMAZING! I have very dark black Asian hair, and this product highlighted shimmering reds and browns I didn't know were there! Even my stylist complimented me on how beautiful and deep the color was. And best of all, it's healthy for your hair and the environment. A great way to add color without the damaging dye process.

I have permed (body wave), fine (Asian), dark brown hair and I'm very satisfied with this product. It actually gave my one-tone hair subtle highlights of light brown/red. It didn't dry out my hair or give me dandruff or anything. The smell is very light and very organic--not at all unpleasant. I recommend this product for anyone who wants subtle highlights without the salon chemicals.
